Raga takes a step forward and finishes second in Cordoba

New high level of the Gas Gas rider as he fights for victory in the last day of Spanish Grand Prix.
The second day of the Spanish Trial Grand Prix in Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo (Córdoba) on Sunday saw a new great performance by Adam Raga, who fought to secure a victory on the second day and fell by only a single podium step of adding a win at home.

After his third place on Saturday the Gas Gas rider, Adam returned to be particularly strong and resolute and maintained an active hand in hand battle with Toni Bou. Finally, the Gas Gas team leader finished the race in second place, and returned to the struggle to regain this same position in the overall championship one week prior to the GP of Andorra. The appointment of Sant Julia de Loria gives a new dual opportunity for Adam to close the gap with his direct competitors. After some hesitation on the classification, the second day at Cordoba ended with Bou 10 points, followed by Adam with 21 and Jeroni Fajardo 22.

Things did not go well for French rider Loris Gubian on Sunday and he suffered greatly as yesterday, and was forced to retire from the race. Who really shined on this occasion was Pere Borrellas, who finished an excellent ninth place ahead of the Gas Gas riders Alexz Wigg and Michael Brown. The British pair finished in the tenth and eleventh places respectively. In Junior Jorge Casales again made a great performance and repeated podium after adding a new third.

Adam Raga

“I’m satisfied with how things went on the second day. Obviously I would rather win, but we have taken a step forward and we have returned to fight at a high level. I'll take our reaction in the second round, where we scored only 5 points. Anyway, it was a great race and we must be positive in the face of the next appointment in Andorra, where I want to fight again to win and hopefully do it again”.
