One-two for Gas Gas at the opening event of the Spanish National Rally-Raid Championship

The Gas Gas Raids team had an excellent result in the first round of the new Spanish National Rally-Raid Championship: Jordi Viladoms took the win, with Gerard Farrés in second position.
The new Raid Championship of Spain began with an unbeatable result for the Gas Gas riders. Jordi Viladoms and Gerard Farrés participated in the debut of this new event with a new format, unprecedented in this country. In Mas Pelarda (Teruel) several Spanish raids riders gathered to participate in this first event, which was accepted by all. On Saturday there was a small prologue that determined the starting order for the next day and where Gerard Farrés, returning to competition after a serious training accident suffered while riding the bicycle, beat all participants. Posting the fastest time in the first test, and confirming that he is healed and ready to face future challenges at the controls of a Gas Gas raid bike. Jordi Viladoms was fourth.

Sunday was the main part of the test, where riders traveled a distance of about 300 km around Teruel, where they had to follow the instructions of the road book, and there was a special section of 48 kilometers which decided the race. There, Jordi Viladoms proved fastest in both reading and taking notes his Gas Gas EC 450 F 'BAJA' version, and Gerard Farrés finished second, certifying the first double victory for the Girona brand in this championship.

Gas Gas has demonstrated competitive riders and bikes for this specialty. Do not forget that in the last Baja Aragon, Marc Guasch and Jordi Viladoms finished second and third in the race.

The second round of the Spanish National Raids Championship will be held in Lorca (Murcia), on the 10th of November.

"I'm glad I managed to win in a new race like this. It is certainly important to have a championship of Spain in which you must use a road book, as these are a great preparation for the Dakar, and that if we wanted something like this, we had to go racing in Italy. in the prologue I was fourth and that allowed me to make no mistakes in navigation in the 48 km special. These races with Gas Gas are making me improve and become familiar with everything, the bike and the team to get in good shape for Dakar".

"After all the injuries and running with the new bike, I did not expect this result and the open terrain still made it more difficult. This race has given me confidence to continue to prepare for Dakar. The thing that stands out is the commitment to the bike, in that I felt comfortable and it encouraged me even more to keep working hard for our Dakar project".
