Dani Gibert finishes sixth in the SuperEnduro World Championship

24/02/2014
The Spanish rider, with his Gas Gas EC300 defended his position in the final round of the SuperEnduro World Championship held in the French town of Tours and finished sixth. Melcior Faja also raced the three finals.
Dani Gibert finished sixth in the SuperEnduro World Championship after being defeated in the last of the six rounds of the championship, held in Tours (France). The Catalan rider finished fifth in the 1st and 2nd finals, and was sixth in the 3rd and final race at the end of the night. Melcior Faja, another member of the Gas Gas Extreme Enduro Team, also raced in the final.

The course layout was very fast, which did not bode well for the more technical riders, who had trouble competing with the MX riders.

Dani Gibert faced this final round with uncertainty because he wanted to defend his position in the championship despite not being physically 100%. Despite the attack from the Frenchman Mathias Bellino, Gibert - who this season has managed to win one of the finals - managed to hold onto sixth place in the final championship standings.

Next, Dani Gibert will undergo an operation on the ligaments

Dani Gibert will soon go under-the-knife for surgery on his right knee to repair the cruciate ligament. The rider for the Gas Gas factory Extreme and SuperEnduro Team had to cancel his participation in the Hell's Gate after suffering a recurrence of this knee injury in testing for the Barcelona SuperEnduro.

After the operation, the doctor will decide the possible return to racing for the rider, although it is expected that Gibert will not be fully recovered in time to compete in the Erzberg Rodeo, but he hopes to be well enough to compete in the Romaniacs

Dani Gibert

"We were able to tie for sixth place, this is good. The course was excessively fast, and the area of stones was not very technical. It was not possible to recover and advance much in the complicated areas. I also found that I felt very good on the bike, I found myself more comfortable, and in fact, this has been a big improvement over the previous race."

Melcior Faja

"To be a specialty that this year I could not train a lot, I'm pretty pleased with how it went. Nor is it to be a track that closely adapted to our more technical style, as it was very quick and motocrossing is not our style. But we were able to make the final and this is always experience that you take with you."
