01/11/2012Stage 9: Laia Sanz overcomes the loss of her team mate with a super run The Gas Gas rider finished in 40th place to confirm her best classification in the Dakar Rally 2012. The only girl among the bikers, Laia faces the rest of the race without her backup and she is full of confidence in her own abilities. 01/10/2012Stage 8: Laia Sanz is left without backup Marc Guasch, team mate of the reigning women’s champion of the Dakar, suffered a fall in the special and had to be lifted off by helicopter with a heavy blow to his thorax. Laia finished the fifth stage in 58th place and Marc Guasch was 56th. 01/05/2012Stage 4: A fall means a setback for Laia Sanz The Spanish girl’s fuel tank was holed, leaving her without fuel 30 kilometres from the finish. Marc Guasch stopped to transfer fuel from his bike to Laia’s, but this cost them a lot of time.
