Gas Gas TXT Racing dominates the paddock at the Spanish Trial Championship in Sigüenza

  • Gas Gas is victorious in 3 out of the 6 competition categories: Moreno (TR3), Martin Riobo (Junior) and Àlex Canales (Cadet).
  • Gas Gas achieves tremendous success with participation in Sigüenza. 33 of the 75 bikes competing in the third event of the Spanish Trial Championship were made in Salt (Girona).
  • Eighth and ninth places for James Dabill and Arnau Farré in the second event of the National TR1 championship, where penalty points scored went through the roof due to the great difficulty of some zones.
  • Sandra Gómez was seventh in TR3. Meanwhile Carla Caballé and Michelle Neukirchen, finished 11th and 12th respectively in TR4.
  • Good results for the MRW Gas Gas Trial Team with an excellent second place for Pau Martínez in Cadets.

Eighth position for James Dabill in the Spanish hills. The seven times British trials champion continues to get into the swing of the special characteristics of the Spanish Trial Championship. And it is notable that his riding in Sigüenza is much improved when compared to Mancor la Vall, although this is not entirely reflected with his final eighth position.

The Sigüenza Trial had twelve high level zones, some of them impossible to ride; their difficulty being demonstrated by the high scores on the cards the riders handed in at the end of the day.

Dabill was eighth, satisfied with his performance, although not so happy with his classification. Meanwhile Arnau Farré finished ninth. The young rider, trained in the Gas Gas School of Champions, was missing the youthful enthusiasm that got him through the previous event so well in Mancor la Vall. His 36 penalty points in the first round in Sigüenza forced him down to ninth position in the second event of the season for TR1 riders. This year, in 2017, Oriol Noguera, official rider for MRW Gas Gas Trial Team is also participating. He finished tenth, making it into the “Top-Ten” of the trial elite.

Almost half the riders in the Spanish National Championship trust in the quality of the bikes made by Gas Gas.

The third event for the Spanish Trial Championship – the second for TR1 - once again had an extensive representation of Gas Gas bikes in all the categories. 33 of the 75 participants in this event were riding on bikes made by the company from Salt.

In TR2, Pablo Suárez, fourth, was the best rider on a Gas Gas bike in the second national category. Also there as well was the young rider from Galicia and riders such as José Maria Moral from Andalusia (5º), and Marc Horrach from the Balearic islands (7º), as well as an important representation from TXT Racing, amongst them Jarmo Robrahn, who finally finished sixth. The young German rider, as well as his fellow German Michelle Neurkirchen, took advantage of their stay in Spain to test their strength in the Spanish Trial Championships.

Martin Riobo confirmed his excellent progression with a victory in Sigüenza. This triumph positions the young rider from Galicia in second place in the Junior Category table. Meanwhile, Sergio Moreno, the young rider from Andalusia and the Catalan Àlex Canales, completed the Gas Gas bike riding success with victories in TR3 and Cadet, with top positions on the podium in three out of the six categories in the competition in Sigüenza. These excellent results were given a finishing touch with the excellent performance by Pau Martínez. The young rider with MRW Gas Gas Trial Team got onto the second step of the podium in Sigüenza and is now second in the classification just behind his fellow Gas Gas rider Àlex Canales, leader of the category.

Last but not least, James Dabill has confirmed his participation on Saturday’s riding in the 3 Days of Trial of Santigosa, the long duration trial event with the greatest tradition in our country. The Spanish Trial Championship is to take a break for the next two months until the next event, the Trial of Arnedillo, in the Rioja, 11th June.
