Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Daniel Sanders came out swinging today, steering his RX 450F home as fourth-fastest and securing his highest finish of the rally so far. Two-time Dakar Rally Champion Sam Sunderland unfortunately retired from today's stage three, at kilometer 192. Now three stages into the Desafio Ruta 40, Chucky’s impressive result sees him climb up to eighth in the provisional overall standings.

  • Daniel Sanders lies eighth overall after top-four stage result
  • Sunderland unfortunately retires mid-stage
  • We’re over halfway through the 2024 Desafio Ruta 40

After testing the waters on the opening stages of the Desafio Ruta 40, Daniel Sanders certainly kicked things up a notch today! The Aussie tackled stage three’s 341 kilometers of rugged, off-piste tracks and challenging navigation with skill and precision, claiming his highest finish at the 2024 edition of the Argentinian rally so far. Posting the fourth-fastest time, Daniel is fired-up for the remaining two stages!

Daniel Sanders: “It’s been really cool to come back to San Juan, the last time I was here was for my first ISDE in 2014. Although it’s familiar territory, it’s a lot faster than on the enduro bike I can say that! The change in terrain today really worked well with my riding style and I was able to work with the bike a lot better. I had a lot of fun out there and I rode well, but I know we still have some time to make up. I’m learning constantly with the team and this will help us know where to improve going forward. There were a couple of tricky spots of navigation but overall I’ve had a great day, so I’m hoping for more of the same tomorrow!”
