Rockstar Energy GASGAS Factory Racing’s Justin Barcia delivered a share of speed and consistency inside Detroit’s Ford Field for Round 6 of the 2025 AMA Supercross Championship, finishing the Main Event in seventh place and moving to seventh in the overall 450SX standings. Justin Barcia finishes Detroit Main Event in seventh position Experienced racer moves to seventh overall in 450SX point standings Arm tightness holding BAMBAM back from full potential Laptimes were close in the 450SX qualifying sessions on the tight Ford Field layout, with Barcia setting the 11th-fastest time aboard his GASGAS MC 450F Factory Edition. In the second Heat Race of the event, BAMBAM powered his way into the mix with the race leaders, banging bars early on as he found his way into the fifth position. The New York native would remain there for the remainder of the race, punching his ticket into the Main Event. The number 51 got out of the gates to a mid-pack start in the Main Event, fighting amongst the top 10 positions for the majority of the race as he struggled with tightness in his arms. In true BAMBAM style, he never stopped charging, chasing down his rivals until the checkered flag flew. Justin Barcia: "I really liked Detroit! My starts were good today, I felt decent on the bike speed-wise, I’m just struggling a little bit still with tightness in my arms, and that’s limiting my intensity. As the night show commenced, a mid-field start in the Heat Race followed by a series of quick passes saw 'BamBam' climb into fourth place, which is where he would remain to conclude the race, earning a strong gate selection for the premier class Main Event. On a night that bit its fair share of riders, Barcia used his smarts to remain focused throughout the Main Event, logging consistent, fast laps that saw the number 51 equal his best finish of the year in sixth position by race's end, with he and the Rockstar Energy GASGAS Factory Racing Team making strides forward as the season progresses. With his result, Barcia currently sits ninth place overall in the 450SX standings. Justin Barcia: "Tampa was a step in the right direction and the day went much better. In the Heat Race we got off to a good start, before I got a bit tangled up in the first turn, so I made a push to make up positions. Later on, I got off to a pretty good start in the Main, the track was super-technical, and we had some good battles. I'm really hungry to get that podium and I know with how we're working we'll get there soon." Justin Barcia surges from the back of the field in first race Sixth-place finish in the final 450SX race saw him finish 12th overall Bam Bam currently sits eighth in the series standings A troubled qualifying session gave Barcia an outside gate pick for the three Triple Crown finals, and a tough start to the first race saw him round the first turn at the back of the field. Racing the GASGAS MC 450F Factory Edition, Bam Bam went on a trademark charge up to 12th, then replicated that result again in the second final. The 32-year-old saved his best for last in the final outing, where he ran as high as P2, then held his own to finish sixth. Those combined results saw him finish the round in 12th overall, and he’s now holding down eighth place on the 450SX points ladder following Round 4 inside State Farm Stadium. Justin Barcia: "Glendale was a rollercoaster and I don’t like rollercoasters [laughs]! I actually felt really good in qualifying, but was slower than I was hoping, and that set me up for a bad gate-pick in the first race. I got an average start and had to charge through the pack from last up to 12th. The second race I got a better start, but rode a little tight and finished 12th again. That wasn’t much fun, but I almost holeshot the last race and mixed it up with the guys I belong with, so came home with a sixth. It definitely wasn’t the weekend we wanted, but we’re moving forward and know what we need to work on before we head to the East Coast."
