GASGAS TALENT SWEEPS TO WORLD TITLE AT 2024 FIM JUNIOR MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
The world's top young motocross talent descended on Heerde, Netherlands, for the 2024 FIM Junior Motocross World Championship. Kash Van Hamond clinched the 65cc World title, with Theo Kolts securing third place on GASGAS bikes. In the 85cc class, Sleny Goyer finished fourth, and Moritz Ernecker secured sixth. Francisco Garcia shone in the 125cc class, earning third place overall.

The annual FIM Junior Motocross World Championship went live and loud in central Netherlands this weekend, featuring the current cream of the crop of youth talent going bar to bar on track. Better yet, GASGAS-mounted riders shredded their way to a 65cc world title, as well as a haul of podiums and points finishes.
Hosted at Kamperweg Heerde, a 1750m scenic but ultra-technical woodland sand circuit, the FIM Junior World Championship event is a one-weekend-only affair and serves as the ultimate showcase for future stars of motocross. Case in point: current Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing MXGP rider Jorge Prado won the 65cc category back in 2011, kickstarting his career into the MX limelight.
This year’s star of the 65cc category proved to be 11-year-old Dutch rider Kash Van Hamond. The young racer left his rivals in the dust, seizing the top spot with a whopping 47 points across both motos. Riding two solid races, scoring 2-1 against fierce competition, the result points to exciting things to come from the young racer. What’s more, Theo Kolts - also riding GASGAS machinery - powered his way to third place with 40 points, while Cohen Jagielski and Timote Cez charged in at sixth and seventh.
A hugely popular 85cc class featured a near oversubscribed grid, which had to be run in three groups for practice and qualifying. On Saturday, Austrian racer Moritz Ernecker claimed the fastest time of 2:22.238 in Group A, over three seconds clear of fellow GASGAS pilot Bodie Court. In the fierce 85cc Sunday showdown, French racer Sleny Goyer showcased the skills that have already bagged him multiple junior MX titles to claim fourth place with 32 points. Moritz Ernecker matched the heat, tying for sixth with 27 points.
Francisco Garcia delivered a standout performance in the 125cc class, securing third place overall with 40 points. Despite only having had four training sessions on his GASGAS machine, Garcia once again underscored his talent in challenging conditions and marked himself out as a rising star in motocross.
Everyone at GASGAS is excited to see how these talented racers progress as they aim for their ultimate goal: a full-time starting gate pick in the FIM Motocross World Championship.
