Double podium for Fajardo and Busto in a great day for GasGas

The School Of Champions team triumphs with the victory of Peace in Trial2 and the double podium with Suárez and Riobo in Trial125.

A excellent day for GasGas in the Portuguese GP of the TrialGP World Championship. GasGas Factory Team riders Jeroni Fajardo and Jaime Busto stayed in the top positions throughout the day, even leading for a few moments in the case of the Catalan rider, and finishing second and third respectively. Fajardo and Busto remain in those same positions in the general ranking on passing the halfway mark in the competition season calendar. Both riders have added seven podiums in the five races that have been held to date, placing GasGas only 5 points away from the constructors' class leader.

The successes for the brand from Salt have not ended with the official team since the young riders of the School Of Champions have also had good results for GasGas. In Trial 2, Dan Peace completed a great race where he won. Meanwhile his teammates, Pablo Suárez and Martín Riobo, got a double podium after finishing second and third respectively in Trial125.

The next round of the TrialGP World Championship will be held on July 15th in Auron, France, where Loris Gubian will premiere on the GasGas TXE aiming to win the TrialE title for GasGas once again.

MARC COLOMER:
GasGas Trial Team Manager

"Today we got another great result in Portugal, with our two official riders in the second and third positions on the podium, thus fulfilling the goals we had set at the beginning of the season. We are strengthening ourselves in these positions. Toni Bou had a splendid race today and it has been very difficult to get near him but the most important thing for us is that we are always on the podium and that we are aiming for the maximum positions. We must continue in this same line.

Now we have a small break in the World Championship but next week we will be competing in a new event in the Spanish Trial Championship. After that we can think about the second part of the World Championship with the confidence that such a positive first half has given us. We must continue like this, without stopping thinking that we can aspire to everything in each race, because our two riders are Grand Prix winners, as we have already shown. We must continue fighting so that it becomes more feasible every day. I have to congratulate the whole team for the work they have been doing throughout this season and encourage them to continue working in this same direction."

JAIME BUSTO:
"The truth is that we are quite happy with how the whole weekend has gone. Yesterday in the classification we got a good result, finishing second. Although today we started the race under an absolutely suffocating heat and I made a couple of mistakes in the first lap. But in the second I managed to fine-tune my driving a bit more and, in general, it was a positive weekend for us. Now we have to continue training to improve a little more. I want to take the opportunity to congratulate Jeroni [Fajardo] because he had a great race again."

JERONI FAJARDO:
"I am very happy because today we completed a very good trial. It was a very hot day, although in spite of that things went quite well from the beginning. Only Toni [Bou] was one step ahead of me today. But for the rest, it has been an incredible race for me. We made a great first lap and in the second, despite the fatigue, we managed to hold the pace to get a second position that gave a taste of glory."
