Double podium for GasGas in France

Jeroni Fajardo and Jaime Busto finish second and third, respectively, and consolidate their second and third positions in the overall classification. Loris Gubian debuts in the TrialE Cup with the electric TXE, finishing in second position.

It was a great day today in France for the GasGas Trial Factory Team riders. They fought for victory throughout the whole trial and have added two new top positions, winning a total of 9 podiums finishes for GasGas in the 2018 season so far. Jeroni Fajardo, injured two weeks ago in the Spanish championship, has confirmed his recovery in record time with his second place today. His teammate Jaime Busto was up there with him on the podium after making a great comeback. Both riders hold on to the second and third position of the general ranking, with only three events left to go.

France played host to the first of the two events of the TrialE Cup, with Loris Gubian participating with the GasGas TXE, the current champion of the competition. The French rider completed a great weekend riding the electric GasGas, getting a second place, just two points behind the winner and establishing the best score in the second round. This result keeps him in the fight for a title that will be decided in the next round, in Belgium.

GasGas Trial Team Manager
"We are very happy with this weekend. Once again we have added another great result today in France, with both the GasGas Trial Factory Team riders on the podium. This allows us to think about the possibility of finishing the year with Jeroni [Fajardo] and Jaime [Busto] on the final podium in the overall ranking, with three races to go before the end of the championship - next week in Belgium -.

We also finished the weekend with a great result from Loris Gubian who finished second in the TrialE Cup. Next week, in Belgium, we will have a new opportunity to compete with our TXE and keep the title if Loris wins, which is the main objective.

The team has worked perfectly again. We have not had any problems with motorcycles, rather the opposite: both the technical and team's performance is excellent and that is also important. We are demonstrating great strength and that allows us to be optimistic for the remainder of the year and encourages us to continue working to be increasingly competitive."

"The weekend has been positive. We leave France with a third place and quite happy. Today we did quite well, although we did not start so well because I added a 5 in zone 2, which was very easy. But I managed to recover and the sensations were good. We fought with Adam [Raga] and managed to beat him by two points. I also want to congratulate Jeroni [Fajardo] who had a very good race after his injury. We hope that next week we will be even better."

"Today has been a very good day for us. We finished in second position, after suffering the last couple of weeks after the injury in the Spanish Championship. We have worked a lot with the doctor and the physiotherapist to be able to arrive at this event in the best condition possible and I felt very well during the weekend. That has allowed me to ride with confidence and little by little things have started going well. I am very happy because we went for victory at all times and we pushed until finishing second, which is a very good result."

"The weekend has been almost perfect. I only made a small mistake in the first zone that cost me 3 points, although finally the race went well and the bike worked perfectly. This was my first event with the GasGas TXE in the TrialE Cup and I am very happy because we have not had any kind of problem. We have worked very hard during these last two months on the bike so that everything went well and I think we have had a good race. We are now three points behind [Kenichi] Kuroyama in the standings. We have to concentrate fully on the GP next week in Belgium, where I hope to win because I think we have the capacity to do so and we want to win for GasGas."
