GasGas North America At Rattlesnake National Enduro

FAR Racing GasGas North America’s Andrew DeLong turned in his best performance of the season with an impressive fifth overall at this weekend’s Rattlesnake National Enduro in Cross Fork, Pennsylvania.

DeLong got off to a quick start in the opening test on his GasGas XC300, riding a fast pace that put him among the leaders until a lapper slowed him near the end of the test. The Pennsylvania rider only got faster as the day progressed, finishing fifth fastest in test two, third fastest in test three and fourth fastest in test five. DeLong was aiming for a top four finish when a couple of miss-steps in the final test dropped him to fifth overall for the day.

The team was obviously pleased with the performance and the finish, which were aided in part by testing during the week leading up to the race. Unfortunately, the other member of the team, Nick Davis, was absent from the race due to a torn ACL he suffered at the previous round in Georgia. Nick is expected to be back in action for the next GNCC.

Andrew DeLong:
Today was a really good day. The first test started off well, although a lapper at the end of the test held me up and I lost about 10 seconds. In the last test, I struggled a bit because I think I was pushing a little too hard, trying to close in on fourth place. I’m really excited for the team, we tested on Friday and we came in with a few new settings and the weekend proved we were on the right track. Today was the closest I’ve been to being competitive in a long time and I feel like I’m coming back around to my old form.

The FAR Racing Gas Gas North America team returns to action on August 26th for the Grassman National Enduro in Chandlersville, Ohio, round seven of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series.
