Le migliori promesse del motocross mondiale si sono ritrovate a Heerde, in Olanda, per il Campionato Mondiale FIM Junior Motocross 2024. Kash Van Hamond ha conquistato il titolo mondiale della classe 65, con Theo Kolts terzo sempre su GASGAS. Nella classe 85 Sleny Goyer ha chiuso quarto e Moritz Ernecker sesto. Nella 125, Francisco Garcia ha brillato con un terzo posto finale.

L’appuntamento annuale con il Campionato del mondo FIM Junior Motocross si è tenuto questo weekend in Olanda, dove i migliori talenti mondiali si sono affrontati in pista. I piloti GASGAS hanno brillato in tutte le classi, con la ciliegina del titolo mondiale 65 oltre a numerosi podi. Ospitato dall’impianto di Kamperweg Heerde, uno scenografico e tecnicissimo tracciato di 1.750 m in una zona boscosa dal fondo sabbioso, il Campionato mondiale FIM Junior Motocross è una faccenda che si conclude in un solo weekend, che mette in luce le future stelle del motocross. Facciamo un esempio: il campione del mondo in carica e attuale pilota Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing MXGP Jorge Prado ha vinto la classe 65 nel 2011, dando il via alla sua carriera MX. A brillare nella classe 65 quest’anno è stato un undicenne olandese, Kash Van Hamond. Il giovane pilota GASGAS ha lasciato la polvere agli avversari, raccogliendo ben 47 punti dei 50 disponibili nelle due manche. Grazie a due manche impeccabili contro fieri avversari, il suo 2-1 è l’annuncio di un futuro elettrizzante per questo talento in erba. Anche un altro pilota GASGAS è salito sul podio: Theo Kolts ha chiuso terzo con 40 punti, mentre Cohen Jagielski e Timote Cez sono arrivati sesto e settimo.
L’affollatissima classe 85 ha costretto a dividere le qualifiche in tre gruppi. Sabato il pilota austriaco Moritz Ernecker è stato il più veloce del Gruppo A con 2:22.238, oltre 3 secondi più rapido dell’altro pilota GASGAS Bodie Court. Nella serrata gara domenicale, il francese Sleny Goyer ha mostrato tutto il suo talento che gli ha già portato diversi titoli MX junior, chiudendo quarto con 32 punti. Moritz Ernecker ha invece chiuso sesto a pari merito con 27 punti.
Nella classe 125 a brillare è stato Francisco Garcia, terzo con 40 punti. Nonostante abbia potuto allenarsi solo quattro volte con la sua GASGAS MC 125, Garcia ha di nuovo messo in mostra le sue doti in condizioni particolarmente difficili, segnalandosi come una certezza del motocross a venire. Tutti noi di GASGAS siamo entusiasti e impazienti di vedere i progressi di questi giovani talenti nel loro percorso verso l’obiettivo finale: una sella a tempo pieno nel Campionato del mondo di Motocross FIM. Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing's Ryder DiFrancesco impressed with his highest overall finish of P6 in the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at the Spring Creek National, also matching his career-best and managing a top-five moto result in the rain-delayed final outing.

• Fifth in Moto 2 also equals highest result of the season
• A difficult day for PB amidst ongoing health challenges

DiFrancesco qualified in 13th position and then found himself outside of the top 20 at the start of Moto 1, but managed to slice his way through the pack on his GASGAS MC 250F Factory Edition to salvage 12th place and a decent haul of points for his efforts.
After being delayed due to storms, the second moto saw riders facing a rain-soaked track when the gates dropped, and this time around Ryder D was able to benefit from improved track position. He completed lap one in P6 and rode hard from there, taking the checkered flag in fifth, which equaled his second moto result from High Point. That elevated him to sixth overall and he stays 10th in the title race.
Ryder DiFrancesco:   "Millville was good. It started out rough, but got better throughout the day. We need to sort out the first motos, because the second motos have been good – I just need to put the two together. Washougal is next and one of my favorites, so I'm excited to go back west at this stage of the season."
For Brown, his qualification was solid in seventh position, before he raced to 13th in the opening race of the weekend. With rain falling at the beginning of Moto 2, he was further impacted by a first-turn pile-up that left him fighting from the back of the pack, eventually climbing to 14th. That put him P14 overall for the weekend, which sees him maintain seventh in the championship standings.
Pierce Brown:  "It wasn't a good day here at Millville for me, unfortunately. I haven't been feeling like myself lately with some sicknesses, so we will have to figure that out, but we did what we could today in the end. Onto Washougal!"
