Nambotin and Basset repeat podiums at the Italian GP

Christophe Nambotin –second in E3– and Antoine Basset –third in E1– have added two more podiums for GasGas on the second day at Edolo.

A productive weekend for the GasGas Factory Team with the addition of 4 podiums in the Italian GP round of the EnduroGP. In E3, Christophe Nambotin got another second place, matching the result of the first day. His teammate, the British rider Danny McCanney, fourth, was only 2 seconds away from a place in the top three.

In the E1 category, Antoine Basset repeated the third place he got yesterday, while his partner, the young Finnish rider Eemil Pohjola, finished both days in seventh position.

As on the first day, the rain marked the second day of competition in Italy. A very demanding Grand Prix with a very long Enduro Test, a Cross Test on slippery grass that made riding difficult and an Extreme that was made complicated by the rain.

The EnduroGP World Championship returns on the weekend of 22 and 23 September with the French GP in Methamis.
"Although it's been a good day, I'm a little disappointed with today's result. I had a very good feeling with the bike throughout the weekend and today I was very close to the podium in EnduroGP, but it escaped me in the last lap. Now it's time to continue and train hard during these two weeks before the home GP, in Methamis."

"It's been a hard weekend. Yesterday I suffered a crash in the first Enduro Test of the day that ended my options. From that moment on, I have tightened to the maximum throughout the weekend to try to get the best possible result. Today I have given everything and the result has been somewhat better than I expected. We added some good points for the Championship."

"It has been a good weekend, with two thirds positions that help us add some valuable points for the championship. It's been a tough weekend, with a very complicated Enduro Test. Despite the rain that has fallen, the bike has worked very well and I am happy with the result. The next GP is at home, so we will work hard to try to improve the result."

"The Italian Grand Prix is a difficult race and with the rain, things have still got a little more complicated. I gave everything to get the best result and, finally, I achieved two seventh places. We have room for improvement and we will train hard to achieve better results in the next races."
