The sports life of Jonathan Barragán and motocross have always been closely linked. A discipline in which the rider from Getafe stood out from his childhood and where, over the years, he has managed to win the Spanish Championship trophy up to eleven times, from promotion to Senior categories.
The talent and perseverance he showed on the circuits made the Madrid rider one of the great Spanish points of reference in the history of motocross, capable of demonstrating his worth at home and also beyond its borders. Barragán has climbed to the top of the podium in seven Grand Prix and achieved a fourth place in the 2008 MX1 World Championship.
In 2014, he decided to make a change to his career and make the leap to enduro. A natural step to a new speciality he adapted to with great ease, thanks to the refined technique and speed he had acquired over the years on motocross tracks. A year later, he became part of the GasGas Enduro Factory Team, a formation with which he conquered a new title as Champion of Spain, although this time in enduro, in the E3 category. A title that was added to a Scratch runner-up that same year, and with which Jonathan Barragán earned the greatest respect from his rivals also in the world of enduro.
His participation in the Route 40 Challenge, the Baja Inka and the Merzouga Rally during the second half of this season have allowed him to get a direct passport to dispute the 2018 Peru-Bolivia-Argentina Dakar, his debut in the biggest off-road competition on the planet.
